Target Dev Version 2 beta is live
Posted on 18 Jan 2012Today I have launched the initial beta release of my project management / ticket registration system TargetDev version 2.0. The reason why I am already putting this version public is that most of the features for adding / editing and tracking are into place.
There is however still a few things which needs to be implemented, compared with the original version. The original version had a system which could track statistics data from the tickets (drop down menus to filter tickets).
This system needs to be rewritten, since all this needs to be replaced with an ajax handler which needs to be thought through pretty well before implementing this. I have already noted this down as a ticket for future developments.
Other then that, there are a few minor nit picking things I would like to implement. One of them would be rapidly add new projects/categories/versions and tickets. Since most likely these features will usually be used once during the cycle. I still would like to add a 'reset form' feature with most of them since it would add something to repeat the same "add" function (eg bulk adding stuff).
Last, I would like to add something that I haven't seen before in any project management / bug tracking tool... an auto update feature of the ticket. Some parts are already automaticly updating during the status changes. However, to make the complete project complete I would like to expand this feature and use it throughout the complete ticket history as well.
For the current state of the project the last part would probably not really add much, since its a low traffic project. However, I am planning ahead with this one...
